08 THE OVEN MITT

CREDITS:

Costume Design & Construction: Alice Vance
Lighting Design: Veronique  Benett

A fed-up, destroyed oven mitt takes over a museum storage room, unleashing the anger of being used and burnt for too many years. The concept was brought about as a n unleashing of female opression, and performed by myself.

The oven mitt was constructed from two doona covers quilted together with a steel boning keeping the shape together. Hoola hoops boned the inside, with  room left within the layers for a large pocket to hide props.
